Deven had a standard day in qualifying at Ford Field. The track was tough but Deven was able to qualify for the night show in 24th. Deven got a decent start in 450 Heat 1, coming around the first corner inside the top 15. He was able to climb up to 13th, but he would go
to the Semi. When his next qualifier began, he was eager to make it into qualifying position.
He got a mid pack start and was able to climb into 7th, where he stayed for most of the race. It wasn’t enough to qualify for the Main this time and he would go onto the LCQ. As the gate was set for the 450 LCQ, the tension was palpable. The gate dropped, and Deven got off to an okay midpack start. Somehow he was able to bang his way up to 8th by the second lap. Raper made his way into seventh, and with two other riders tangling together, Deven was basically handed fifth place. The #447 made a last lap effort to pass into transfer position and collided with another downed rider. His night in Detroit was over. He would look forward to the Easter break and come back strong for the next race.
