He made the move on Arnaud and began a charge to catch leader, Jeremy Martin. By the time the Checkered
flag flew, Cooper had gapped 3rd place by twenty-five seconds and finished just one second behind teammate
Martin. In the next moto, Cooper decided he didn’t want to eat any roost and was able to pull a commanding holeshot. He caught a little bit of heat from the rookie Forkner early on but was able to hold his composure. He began to pull away and the rest was history. Cooper would
score a perfect 1-1 at Southwick.
