MIKE BROWN –
SENIOR (40+)
Although residing in Bluff City, Ten- nessee, there’s no “false testimony” in discussion of Mike Brown’s talent aboard a motorcycle. A force on
the professional level for numerous years, Brownie’s love for the sport hasn’t wavered, as he’s constantly ripping any type of course he
can find, no matter the location. Enduro’s, GNCC’s, you name it, he’s been able to adapt and excel in the environment. Making his way back to Loretta Lynn’s, even the naked eye of a new spectator could tell that Brown meant business when stepping onto the track for the parade lap of moto number one.
It translated into the gatedrop, as
he would lead the field across the stripe, laying down an absurd 1:59 laptime. With his competitors at their fastest running a 2:03, it looked to be smooth sailing for the number 30, as his technique was precise as always. Never dabbing the foot, he would round the final bend with a sense of reassurance, knowing that if everything fell into place, he could take the crown. Yet again, Brown led the field for beginning of moto two, throwing down his now expected heater on lap two; the fastest time
of the moto of course. However, he had another well-known profes- sional at his doorstep, that of Nathan Ramsey. “Nate Dogg” would at first be able to read the jersey letter-
ing of the number 30, but by the midway point, it was simply a trail of dust. Brown had taken off, asserting himself as ruler of the division. The championship was his to lose. You guessed it, another early lead for the Husqvarna pilot to commence moto number three, although this time he would wait until the third lap to do so. But my goodness did he stamp his authority this go around, pushing the gap to an over 50 second lead by the end of the moto, Ramsey in tow this time as well. There wasn’t much else to be said as he crossed the checkered flag; a championship in the books, and many wondering if he would return for 2018.
