at one point, was climbing the ladder steadily, picking off the field one by one. Marchbanks, his characteristics smooth style, was reiterating to both field and audience, that he was ready for the bright
lights of Supercross, it was only a matter of time. And to cap off the performance, he would go on to lead every lap, taking home the checkered flag, and moto win. Lopes, full of integrity, would charge to second, meanwhile Zane Merrett would round out the podium. For moto number two, it was Mitchell Falk tossing his name into the
hat, ready to be chosen as winner of the division. Falk, on the number 612 KTM, was bonzaing everything in his immediate vision. Whether it was anthills, rhythm sections, or any other type of plateau, the Costa Mesa native was charging furiously. These 250f’s were appearing as ticking timebombs, but there was an obvious reason as to why. The amount of aggres- sion Falk was putting into his machine was absurd. Pulling away from Lopes, who sat second, the race appeared
to be over from everyone in attendance. And then, the unthinkable happened. With two laps to go, Falk was at fault for a huge error, costing him to drop back to the fourth place position. Who was the recipient of the win you ask? None other than Enzo Lopes, who continued to be chased by Carter Halpain. Luck is where preparation, meets opportunity, and with his apparent persistence, Lopes would go on to take both vic- tory, and the title back to his possession.
