ing the opening stripe out front. All seemed to be well, until bam! A huge mistake plummeted her from first,
to outside the top twenty. Meanwhile, the slick and sly Jarvis, jumped Jamie Astu- dillo, and inherited the lead, going from third to first by lap two. And that was all she wrote, literally, as Jarvis con- tinued to pull, while Hodges could recover, but only to an eighth place. The top three finishing as follows: Jarvis, Astudillo, and Louisiana’s Kennedy Lutz taking third. For moto number two, Hannah Hodges came out
of the gate with something to prove. She seemed like she’d been cursed with
bad luck all week, and was willing to put the nail in the coffin, on all chatter of her “losing her edge.” Hodges had such a strong fight put up by Jordan Jarvis in the early going, as the two liter- ally got out of their respec- tive corner, and began to dog fight on the race track. Hodges began to show her true colors, the number 172 pushing forward so hard. Launching the triple combo in the middle, Jarvis was do- ing everything in her power to hopefully pull up on Hodg- es rear wheel. It just wasn’t cutting it however. Hodges, a Florida native in her own right, wanted to show off in front of the crowd, making the pecan pie of Thanksgiv- ing that much sweeter. Her wish would come to frui- tion, as the checkered flag would be hers for the taking. Finally, the monkey was off her back, and she was going home with at least one gold medal, for the duration of the week.
