Christophe was ready to take to the European style track and was looking smooth in the practice sessions.
Unfortunately, he ran out of time and was only able to go into the motos with the 16th fastest time. When
the first moto began, he barely missed out on the holeshot but was running top three early on. Pourcel was challenging for 2nd place early but points leader, Roczen, began pressuring behind him. Roczen made the pass and Pourcel was now sitting in 4th on the second lap. Christophe then lost another position to the hard chargin #3 machine of Tomac. Christophe held the 5th position strong and began to turn up his lap times. He was keeping the leaders honest and was only 9 seconds down as they neared the halfway point. He began to challenge Bogle for 4th with about eight minutes left on the clock. Unfortunately, time ran out and he settled for 5th. In moto two, Christophe was determined to keep pace up at the beginning laps of the race and he did just that. He got off to a near holeshot and was running a close 2nd place until taking out leader, Bogle. Christophe was now leading the moto with points leader, Roczen in toe. Roczen passed him quickly and now, Christophe had moto one winner, Tomac, behind him. Eli made the pass and Christophe was now sitting a comfortable 3rd. As they neared the halfway point, Pourcel began to feel some pressure from Justin Barcia. Barcia made the pass and Christophe was again in 4th place looking to secure his first consistent two-moto weekend. Christophe lost one more position by the end but still took home 5th for 6th overall at southwick. This was his best finish of the year.
