Trey Canard was on fire all day during qualifying battling with Tomac for the fasted spot
throughout the different qualifiers eventually claiming the second place spot. The Honda rider doesn’t have the heat race he was hoping for going down hard right off the start and getting hit by a couple of other riders. Something most would not want to get up after, but Canard is a machine and he got back up to keep his race going. Running all the way back in 18th he had to fight his way to get that good gate pick for the semi. Making his way into 7th by the final lap, but something happened and he fell back to 12th out of nowhere. He finished the heat race in 12th. Not letting his heat race go down affect him he gets a good start in the semi charging hard to work his way to the front. Running third most of
the race he closes in on Wey putting him up to second. But that wasn’t where Canard wanted to be he put his head down and comes into a corner side by side with Tomac. Not giving up he holds his line and flies into the next turn getting the pass just three turns before the finish. Gaining himself a semi victory. Getting a decent start in the main event Canard was running right around 10th place. On lap four he moves into 9th place. Two laps later he is up a few more positions in 6th place. Going nowhere but forward with just a couple laps up to go he moves up yet another position. Riding to the finish in 5th place his second of the year and his best.
