MARVIN MUSQUIN
Marvin Musquin went into the Easter break with some serious momentum. The rookie Factory Red Bull KTM rider has really hit his stride with four straight podium finishes including three
second place finishes. When the season began several months ago, Musquin was not counted in as a contender
for race wins and he backed up that initial prediction with four finishes outside the top nine. He seemed to be going through the usual rookie growing pains that riders suffer from when the hop into the 450 class. But the flip switched when the season rolled into Atlanta. Musquin led nearly the entire race before running into an issue on the final lap surrendering the win. That lost win seemed to light a fire under him for the next few races as he grabbed a hard fought third in Daytona and two more second places before the break. He has emerged as the unlikely number one contender to steal race wins from championship leader and teammate Ryan Dungey. Marvin has vastly improved since starting his 450 career earlier this year and I will be surprised if the season ends without him grabbing a win.
