After a tough start to the season, a solid 15 lap main event with no mistakes was surely the goal for Mitchell Oldenburg. The track was soft and rutty from the Oakland California weather, so making no mistakes wouldn’t be easy. Oldenburg would qualify 9th in practice and come from essentially last place to 9th in the heat race, transferring directly to the main. Starting the main event around 10th, Mitchell rode a smart race limiting his mistakes and worked his way all the way up to 5th place with only 5 laps to go. Cooper Webb would unfortu- nately experience some bike issues which allowed Mitchell to move up yet another position. A smart ride from Oldenburg would earn him a 4th place finish. His best result so far in 2016.
