My History/My Past

I got picked up as a stray in Celina, Ohio on March 29, 2018
and impounded at Mercer County Pound. It was a noisy,

scary place with a lot of dogs in cages. They put me in a
cage too…I was a sorry sight, cold & scared & skinny but

because I was so lovable, one of the wardens, Peg Bollanger,
took me home so I wouldn’t be facing euthanasia (ohhhh…

that’s a scary word). I got to sleep in Peg’s garage & play in
her yard until she found me a rescue agency; then I got

vetted on April 17, 2018; got all my shots & neuter… good
thing I didn’t have any nasty parasites, not even heartworm!

But I did have to have more tests because the doc found out
why I was always so thirsty & drinking & peeing it all out….
Turns out I have diabetes insipidus. My body doesn’t make a

hormone I need to regulate the water in my body, but as
long as I take a pill morning & night, I can be a normal

puppy! So first they gave me needles, but I didn’t much like
that… needles hurt; the pills are much easier. I swallow

them right down, no problem! So once we knew the meds
were working OK, Peg got all my papers in order so I could

become CANADIAN !!
And volunteer transporters passed me from vehicle to
vehicle to get me from Celina Ohio all the way to northern

Ontario. So I say a very BIG thank you to:
Peg Bollanger … for getting me out of jail
