Problems:

Landslides are destructive geological processes that
cause huge property as well as lives loss. Landslide

mostly experienced in the mountain region. The

slope failure in the hilly terrain is due to geological
processes and events. The main cause is

developmental activities. The higher frequency of

landslide is seen along the road during after road
construction or expansion.

Recommendations:

i. Map and document all disasters in the area,
assess trends and vulnerabilities.

ii. The stability of a slope can be increased by
removing all or part of a landslide mass, or by

adding earth buttresses at the toe of potentially

weak slopes.
iii. Drainage works should include both the surface

and subsurface.

iv. Surface drainage improvement works are
implemented to minimize the infiltration of

rainwater that builds up pore pressure.
v. Deploy of early warming sensors that uses GPS

technology at different locations especially

along the road side.
