President’s Message continued
I encourage all members to regularly read the communications from National Headquarters,
the Regional Director and local information to stay abreast of the business of our organiza-
tion. Critical and time-sensitive information is shared by each entity.
I am excited by the energy of the chairs from the initial planning session of the Executive
Board. Please take the opportunity to sign up for committees so that we are successful in im-
plementing and executing the vision and plans for the chapter. If you have not yet signed up,
please send committee request form to president@montgomeryalumnae.org for considera-
tion. Due to the new ratio requirements for the Signature Programs, it is important that we
have enough sorors to sign up for those committees in order for us to continue Delta Acade-
my, Delta GEMS and EMBODI. Delta Academy, our first Signature Program, celebrated twen-
ty years as a chapter program in January. It would be a great disappointment to have to dis-
solve it along with Delta GEMS and EMBODI due to a lack of committee members. Again, I
ask that you seriously consider working with the programs to positively impact the life of a
          young person.

As we take care of our service area, it is important to me that we take care of ourselves. The
concept of Sister Circles was introduced during the 2018 Denims and Pearls event and will
continue through the new biennium. Sister Circles will provide opportunities for us to con-
nect with one another and make sure that “we” are well. We will have 22 circles and encour-
age each to plan fun and inspiring opportunities to bond with sisters in their circle. Please
read the information included in the newsletter to sign up. There will be end of the year
recognition for the most active Sister Circles.

A special thank you to all that that work through the process to help the chapter achieve
compliance by the August 31, 2019 deadline. It is because of your support, dedication and
attention to detail that the chapter is able to move into the 2019-2020 year!

Sorors, I appeal to you to continue to support the efforts of all committees as we represent
the Montgomery (AL) Alumnae Chapter and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Our show of
support should be representative of a chapter of nearly 400 members. Thank you for all that
you do to make us a viable resource for our community.

I am looking forward to another IMPACTFUL biennium!

          Committed to IMPACTFUL Service,

          Cassandra
