Page 13 - GM-Don't Bee Angry
P. 13

But this was not the saddest thing I saw at the Anger Bees’ hive. Down on the ground below the hive were several really sick looking bees. They did not look healthy and could no longer
fly. They did not even seem to know where they were and kept bumping into things.
I could not figure out what had happened to them. None of the other bees would have anything to do with them. Then I heard one bee say to another, “Look at how many old Sour Honey Bees we have on the ground below the hive.”
The other bees replied, “Don’t worry about it, by morning most of those old Sour Honey Bees will be gone.” I did not and still do not know what happened to those bees during the night but by morning they had all disappeared.
As you may have guessed by now, I could not see any reason to want to be one of the Anger Bees. They could not get along with the neighboring animals or even the other bees. They were always looking for something to get angry about. If someone has something nice, like pretty music, they got angry. If someone is different, looks cross-eyed, for example, they got angry. If someone says something stupid, like about their mother, they got angry.
All this anger caused some of them to want to escape from the bad feelings. Those are the ones who ate the sour honey and ended up no better off than those who stayed angry.
