The second young crow, Cal, agreed that it really is not fair that others are getting all of the cherries. And then he added, “Why is everyone always being mean to me.”
Then Cal flew to the cherry tree and said, ”This is not fair!” Then he said, “All of you crows are being mean to me and should be ashamed.”
The crows in the tree yelled back, “If you wanted some cherries, you should have gotten here earlier.”
No one offered Cal any cherries and he went home sad and hungry.
Now only Connie and I were left in the tree. Unlike Carl and Cal, she was not jumping up and down. She did not seem angry or sad. I was interested so I asked her about how she was feeling.
