Message from the President

As I write my last presidential message to our Nassau County Dental Society
members I think back on my exciting year as president. First, I want to thank our
super-duper executive director Dr. Gene Porcelli for helping me make it through the
year. I was lucky, our dental headquarters went through a major renovation this
year. Our new headquarters looks great, and, with limited in-person meetings, I was
able to perfect my Zoom protocols. Thanks to all the members for the opportunity
                              to be your president.

The year went faster than I anticipated and soon I will be known as immediate past
president, which I hear is a pretty good title. We just held the Dr. Mark Feldman
Board Room Dedication at headquarters, and I was pleased to see many past presidents in attendance.
I counted 15 or so past presidents and some we haven’t seen in a long time. Our good friends from
Suffolk attended the event and even the executive director from NYSDA came down for the ceremony.
Mark Feldman’s two sons attended, they were thrilled to see Mark’s amazing bronze plaque unveiled
and they donated their dad’s NCDS President’s gavel to be displayed under the plaque.

Being president of Nassau County kept me busy all year. It was my pleasure to serve. I enjoyed running
the meetings and greeting all our dentists at the general membership meetings. I hope I can get some
of our young members more involved in our society. We need young blood to carry this organization
           into the future.

Please volunteer for leadership roles at Nassau, we want you.

                                                                th
Please put Friday Feb 10 on your calendars for our 20 Give Kids A Smile Day. GKAS will be back at the
Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, and we are planning some new events that day. We will be
doing sealants on some of the children. With the help of Dr. Doug Schildhaus and Dr. Michael Shreck,
we plan to see over 1200 young students from all over Long Island. This event is our premier event,
and we will need many dental volunteers. Look for the email announcement or go to our website to
           sign up to volunteer.

Thanks to the staff at NCDS for running the many amazing programs and courses. Please stay involved
and I hope to see everyone soon. Happy Holidays to all and a very Happy and Healthy New Year.

           Thank you,

            Joe Brofsky
            2022 NCDS President
