Rheinhem Hall Manor
Even at first glance, this estate in Norfolk
casts fear: it looks like a true prototype of
houses from horror films. Here one of the
most famous photos of ghosts in history was
made - the ghost of the Brown Lady. In 1936
Lady Townsend asked the photographer Indra
Shayra to take pictures of the decoration of
the house. When the assistant was doing the
shots, Shaira saw a descending ghost on the
steps. The photographer ordered the assistant
to shoot in ghost`s direction. A silhouette in a
dress and veil appeared on the picture. The
photo was published in the magazine
Countrylife, causing a public outcry, while the
experts after a detailed study did not reveal
any signs of fraud.
