An ideal teacher for UJ Metropolitan Academy has to be someone who has mastered

a wide range of knowledge in various disciplines, and must possess pedagogical skills
which will enhance learners’ understanding of the required content. In addition, an

ideal teacher needed for this specific school must have a sound knowledge about
teaching and learning, and also that teacher must know the learners’ role during the

process of teaching and learning. Moreover, this school needs an ideal teacher who

recognizes or embraces the background knowledge that learners bring into the
classroom. Since the school is so diverse in terms of racial differences, thus, an ideal

teacher for this school has to embrace these differences and be consciously aware
about sensitive topics in the classroom. Furthermore, an ideal teacher for this school

has to know his/her role of which is to transform the lives of children and must employ

his/her social skills in order to accommodate the society of which the school is located.
This includes, incorporating the SGB, parents, and all other stakeholders that partake

towards the improvement of the school.

This school requires an ideal teacher who understands the significance of hygiene and

role it has towards learners’ health. This includes ensuring that the classroom is clean

and there is fresh air within the classroom in order to prevent learners form being
saturation by overheated classroom.
