2017 年夏天，吴雅楠带领着北京互联网金融公司的同事，在印尼巴厘岛庆祝公司重要的里程碑。彼时的他并不知道，这
次热带之旅将开启他又一次创业之旅。如今，吴雅楠已是新加坡金融科技公司 Surfin Meta 的掌舵人。让他想把金融科技拓
展到东南亚的，是他在雅加达走过的一座桥：这座桥的一端连接着他所下榻的高级度假酒店，另一端则是城市中心地带大
片的贫民窟。

"肉眼可见的贫富差距太大了，这让我切实想要做点什么来帮助大多数普通人，" 吴雅楠回忆道。他如今的公司 Surfin Meta
在新兴市场肩负着推动普惠金融的使命。公司名字 Surfin Meta, 源自他最初来到印尼的初衷——学习冲浪。但雅楠快速在"
乘风踏浪金融科技开拓新的领域" 中参悟并挖掘潜力，并结合他之前的成功经验，瞄准更远大的目标。

In the summer of 2017, Yanan Wu found himself celebrating a significant milestone for his Beijing-based internet
finance venture in Bali, Indonesia. Little did he know, this tropical sojourn would be the start of yet another
entrepreneurial journey.

Now at the helm of Surfin Meta, a Singapore-based financial technology firm, Wu reflected on that pivotal moment. He
was struck by what he recalled "a dichotomy of two universes" as he traversed a bridge connecting the upscale resort
he was staying with the surrounding poverty-stricken slums in Jakarta.

"The glaring disparity between affluence and poverty was shocking. This drove me to contemplate how to narrow the
gap and improve livelihoods for the vast majority," said Wu, who is steering Surfin Meta’s mission for financial
inclusivity in emerging markets.

The name of his company, Surfin Meta, reflects his initial purpose for visiting Indonesia—to learn how to surf. But Wu
quickly perceived the untapped promise in "riding the fintech wave to new horizons", by leveraging his prior successes,
but aiming much further afield.
