KFTL DUE DILIGENCE – Kingston, Jamaica
2 Statement of Requirement
2.1 Background
Kingston Freeport Terminal Ltd (KFTL) in Jamaica is operated under a 30 years concession by the CMA- CGM Group (Terminal Link, and CMA Terminals), which operates over 30 container terminals worldwide and was ranked as the 11th largest global terminal operator (Drewry 2016).
CMA-CGM acquired KFTL, in August 2016, and has since spent a large amount of capital investment in turning it into an efficient operation.
Despite the large investment, the performance of the facility has been below expectations since, with significant issues related to the implementation of Navis N4 in 2017 witnessed, but also with equipment reliability and performance issues.
Trent was engaged by the terminal Management, to conduct a due diligence of the technical department.
