Who decides if a service is preventive or not?

      The federal government decides what services are most important for preventive health. ConnectiCare, like
      other health plans, covers those services 100%. Some rules apply, such as what age some screenings begin and
      end.


      The examples here don’t include all preventive services. It shows the most common screenings, tests, and
      counseling for men, women, and children.

      You can find a list of covered preventive services, including age and gender requirements and frequency
     limitation rules, on connecticare.com. You can also contact Member Services at the number listed below.

     Your plan documents have complete details on all benefits, conditions, limits, and exclusions of your plan. Sign

      *“Free” preventive care means that you will not have a copay or have to pay money toward your deductible or coinsurance for the services. Sometimes a preventive care visit leads to
      other medical care or tests, even at the same appointment. You should check with your doctor or doctor’s staff during your visit to see if there are services you may be billed for.
