4) The NWRC has approved projects that
are aimed towards reducing floods in the NWRC
meeting No. 3/2018, on 14 September 2018,
in which the project was allocated a budget and
is currently in the process, comprising:
• The drainage tunnel beneath the Thawi
Watthana canal project of the Bangkok Metropolitan
Administration. It was constructed to mitigate
flooding in Bangkok and nearby areas. When the
project is completed, there will be a 60 km2 flood-
protected area, which will benefit 9,170 households.
