religions – are peaceful or adhere to the best interests of their
followers.
Third, this is not equivalent to law. Religions have rules, even
laws, but none are the law of this land. The laws of this land –
starting with this amendment in its entirety, have a religious
foundation. From the Ten Commandments to the Golden Rule, our
laws and way of life can be found in the Judeo-Christian teachings
and beliefs. These are part and parcel to theism and atheism – our
laws know no difference. However, the encroachment of one upon
the other, without historical or legal foundation, is often misguided
and only self-serving to a personal agenda.
Religion, as intended by our Founding Fathers, was faith and
spirituality – individually and collectively. Remember, that as far
back as the Magna Carta, organized religion was a quasi-
government. Because nobility was granted by god, the organized
