A Patriot’s view of the history and direction of our Country

                                      The Solution: Patriotism

One word, which is all it takes to bring our Country and citizens
from the abyss of dysfunction. A Patriot is someone who, regardless

of beliefs or opinions, places the welfare of the collective above
their own. Are you part of the solution? We all are, but like our Bill

of Rights, it is our choice to exercise our patriotism or not. I submit,
like the rights themselves, the failure to exercise them lends to the

problems. Synergy is the polar opposite of dysfunctional. Synergy is
simply working together for a common goal. Would patriotism also

be synergy? Our Country – from the individual to the several states,
must work to the goal of being synergistic.

Historically, our Founding Fathers resisted independence and for
more than a decade tried to redress their grievances with the crown

                   – including taxation without representation. As tyranny and
oppression began to rise, so did the realization that independence

was necessary. Although a small percentage of colonists initially
supported it, support grew and the necessity of a unanimous

declaration was seen. Unequal taxation, with or without
representation, is unconstitutional. The emotional civil war in

America today has a root cause of ideological warfare – Capitalism
versus Capitolism (Government of the People, by the government,
