If you have ever suffered from a high level of

stress, anxiety or a panic attack, you know what a

horrible feeling it is. The mind will not stop. The

emotions are out of control and all over the place.

Your heart may be racing. Your neck and shoulders

may be tight and painful. Sleep may be difficult. It

may upset your stomach or intestines. The list can

            go on and on.

What many people do not realize is that beyond

the previously mentioned symptoms, other changes

are also happening in the body. This will decrease

the efficacy of your immune system. It may upset

the delicate balance of your endocrine (hormonal)

system. Your adrenal glands can become fatigued

making you even more susceptible to stress. Your

threshold for pain decreases. You can become frigid

            or impotent.

Individuals who have experienced this can feel

helpless. They do not understand what is

happening in the body during stress. They do not

know what causes anxiety or a panic attack and

worse still they do not know what they need to do

            to get better.
