show that most chronic medical problems do not
have only a single cause. Rather there are usually
many contributing factors which give rise to a
chonic medical problem. These factors can range
from a genetic predisposition, past illnesses and
injuries, exposure to toxins or irritants, diet, stress,
level of exercise, unresolved infection or
inflammation, and your body's ability to deal with
all of these over time just to name a few.
Think of these factors working together against
your body. Where you are strong, you may be able
to resist but certain areas may be weaker, more
vulnerable or more damaged than others and
eventually the cumulative effect of all of these
negative influences finally takes its toll and you
end up with a medical condition.
As much as we wished all medical conditions
could be cured, this is not realistic in all cases.
Many conditions, however, can be managed to give
the patient as high a quality of life as possible. To
do this, we must limit the damage being done to the
body and increase its capacity to function and
repair itself.
