This means limiting damaging factors such as
poor quality food, smoking, alcohol, etc and
helping the patient deal with stress, pain, and poor
quality of sleep.
After removing possibly damaging influences,
the goal of medicine is simple: help the body to
heal as much as possible and work as efficiently as
possible. This is the function of acupuncture and
Chinese herbal medicine as described above.
Safety and Efficacy
As stated above, all Parkinson's patients should
be under the care of a neurologist. Because most
neurologists are not familiar with acupuncture and
Chinese herbal medicine, they may be skeptical
about both its safety and efficacy in relation to
Parkinson's disease. To that end, I have listed six
research studies demonstating the safety and
efficacy of acupuncture and Chinese herbal
Medicine on Parkinson's disease for you or your
neurologist to review. There are hundreds of other
similar studies available on PUBMED.
