Imagine one day that you wake up and one half
of your face is paralyzed. You cannot smile. You
cannot frown. You cannot raise your eyebrows. You
cannot completely close your eye. You cannot fully
control your mouth when chewing. If this sounds
like a nightmare, then you are beginning to
understand what it is like to have Bell's palsy.
Notice the right side of patient's face in the picture. There are no
furrows in the brow and he cannot smile. This is due to paralysis of
the facial nerve. This is Bell's palsy.
