Bell's palsy is paralysis the of facial nerve, the
nerve that controls the muscles of your face. There
are many potential causes of Bell's Palsy. It is
believed that the most common cause is a viral
infection that has affected the facial nerve. Other
potential causes include facial injuries, tumors,
high blood pressure, diabetes, and chronic middle
ear infections.

One important note is that both Bell's palsy and
stroke can have very similar symptoms – paralysis of
the face. If you notice that half of your face is
paralyzed, you should seek medical attention
