When the body gets stuck in one type of
response, there is an increased probability that a
person will begin to show immune related
problems. If the immune system gets stuck in the
type 1 response, you are more likely to see
autoimmune diseases. If the immune system gets
stuck in the type 2 responses you are more likely to
see allergies, eczema, asthma, chronic fungal
diseases, chronic fatigue syndrome and possibly
cancer.
Research from Europe has demonstrated that
immune function is regulated by the extracellular
matrix. You may not have heard of the
extracellular matrix but it is the space around the
cells. This cellular environment is designed to
keep the cells healthy and is one of the major areas
where the immune system operates.
When an autoimmune reaction happens, the
immune cells come to the target area from the
bloodstream and the attack on the cells occurs in
the extracellular matrix. The environment of the
cells, designed to help keep them healthy, is now
