                  STRATEGIC SUMMARY OF CASE


                  Prepare a SWOT analysis from the information provided in the pre‐seen information and carry out
                  the following exercises:

                  EXERCISE 1

                        How might MONTEL exploit the opportunities and minimise weakness and threats noted in
                        the SWOT?
                        Provide examples of alternatives for future strategic direction for MONTEL.
                        What are the key risks associated with these alternatives?

                  EXERCISE 2

                  In addition the MONTEL board is similarly worried that future external developments are not
                  ignored or assumptions made without evidence to support claims.

                        How might MONTEL analyse external industry developments?
                        Provide examples of the potential developments and how might they affect MONTEL?

                  EXERCISE 3

                  Hans Clink, Sales Director, has expressed concern that the company may not be paying enough
                  attention to the interest groups affected by any of the strategic decisions that MONTEL may take
                  as a result of the SWOT analysis.

                        Prepare an analysis of MONTEL’s stakeholders, providing examples of each category
                        Suggest strategies for the management of MONTEL stakeholder’s expectations.
