                  STRATEGIC SUMMARY OF CASE

                  Prepare a SWOT analysis from the information provided in the pre‐seen information and carry out
                  the following exercises:

                  EXERCISE 1

                        How might MENTA exploit the opportunities and minimise weakness and threats noted in
                        the SWOT?
                        Provide examples of alternatives for future strategic direction for MENTA.
                        What are the key risks associated with these alternatives?

                  EXERCISE 2

                  In addition the MENTA board is similarly worried that future external developments are not
                  ignored or assumptions made without evidence to support claims.

                        How might MENTA analyse external industry developments?
                        Provide examples of the potential developments and how might they affect MENTA?

                  EXERCISE 3

                  Simon Trell, Director of Operations, has expressed concern that not be paying enough attention to
                  the interest groups affected by any of the strategic decisions that MENTA may take as a result of
                  the SWOT analysis.

                        Prepare an analysis of MENTA’s stakeholders, provide examples of each category
                        Suggest strategies for the management of MENTA stakeholder’s expectations.
