               guage and Composition Adv and an A or B+ in
               AP European History or AP U.S. History, or an A
               in U.S. and Virginia History Adv. or H or Europe-
               an History Adv. with Department Recommenda-
               tion
               This course introduces students to the systematic
               study of patterns and processes that have formed our
               understanding, use and alteration of the Earth’s sur-
               face.  This study focuses on Geography:  its nature
               and perspectives, population, cultural patterns, politi-
               cal organization of space, agricultural and rural land
               use, industrialization, and urban use of land.  All stu-
               dents are required to take the Advanced Placement
               exam in May.
               evaluate the ideologies and personalities that have
               shaped Europe.

               9337 – Personal Finance
               Grade: 11, 12                       Credit: 0.5
               Prerequisite: None
               This course is designed to introduce students to per-
               sonal financial management.  Students will explore
               investment options, including stocks, corporate and
               municipal bonds, and mutual funds.  Other topics in-
               clude:  managing budgets, checking and savings ac-
               counts, insurance, taxes, IRAs and 401ks.  They will
               also study how to deal with credit prudently.
