Shortly after the launch of this new program,
we brought Patty Keenan on board as our
Chief Learning Officer . Her leadership has been instrumental in charting the course for this new program and growing our Learning team . Since the program’s start in 2018, we have hosted hundreds of classes, developed unique partnerships with academic institutions, invited clients to learn with
us, created a digital learning platform, and fostered an environment of peer learning .
As technology and innovation continue to evolve and create new opportunities in our industry,
we believe our employees are well equipped to adapt to a changing environment . As our Learning Organization continues to grow, we look forward to watching our employees reach their greatest potential, ready and capable to take on any opportunity or challenge .

In response to the
increased demand
for mental health
awareness within the
construction industry, the first of many Mental Health First Aid classes was taught for Miller employees and selected clients . We learned how to identify and respond appropriately to signs and symptoms of mental illness or emotional distress, and how to access resources to assist others .
In addition to the increase in safety
and technical
learning, new classes include Personality & Strengths, Personal Finance, Emotional Intelligence, Resilience, and The Challenge of Change .
Claire Ross becomes our first Project Management Development Program Coordinator, offering customized 1:1 coaching and support for our
future project managers .

Our Apprenticeship pipeline is stronger than ever! There is a total of 318 students . 229 apprentices, 52 high school pre-apprentices students, and 37 adult pre-apprentices .

Collaborating with different teams, we begin offering a highly interactive field leadership class, facilitated by Chuck Rewis and Jonathan Harvey who demonstrate that we learn best through peer discussion, practice and teaching others .

A new wave of learning emerges with implemented social distancing standards due to COVID-19 . We quickly shifted from in-person to online learning, starting with a class to develop our own resilience in the face of unprecedented change, further demonstrating our commitment to growing both personally and professionally .
Kalynn Franklin joins the team as a Training Coordinator . Bringing her own love of lifelong learning and incredible organizational skills, she jumped right in helping organize Miller Electric’s first-ever Date Night – a special evening filled with great stories and learning new tools for how to build even stronger relationships with our loved ones .
