gotten her to sign the papers so he could attend school out of the district. She
had begun seeing a noticeable difference in Vance ever since he had started
dating Regina. She noticed that he had been staying home more often and
when he did leave it was always for a short period of time. He seemed to have
a more casual look, less thuggish. She even noticed that he and Babu was
not hanging out as much either. Aunt Jessie thought to herself about Vance
wanting to transfer to a school that was out of the district and out of the seven-
mile zone. That’s right baby, ease back, ease back.
