DIRECTOR OF FINANCE HAMISH ROBERTSON
In the tradition of past Director’s of Finance, it is with much pleasure I present the Financials for the Sunshine Beach Surf Life Saving Club (Surf Club) for the 2020/21 year.
As many will attest, the year was both fantastic and unprecedented. The Sunshine Coast, and in particular our part of the coast, was arguably the best place on the planet to see out the ‘lockdown’. Unfortunately, many were unable to compete in state and national carnivals, nor use our wonderful new clubhouse. As the year progressed, and our restrictions on movement and assembly eased, members were able to return to our ‘normal’ activities, albeit with some handwash or a mask nearby.
Turning our attention to the financial results, you can see some very positive numbers for the long-term sustainability of the club, with net profit of $282,255. Although down from FY20,
Donations from the
Supporters Club of over
$1m were extremely positive
it is important to note that we did not receive a $2.5m building grant this year.
Donations from the Supporters Club of over $1m were extremely positive and reflect a very well executed ‘re-opening’ by the team post Covid; they should be congratulated on this result. Please note that for comparison, donations in FY19 were $503k, and nil in FY20.
As always, a huge thank you for the ongoing sponsorship from our local suppliers and patrons. Your support is greatly appreciated and provides
