Blackbrook in the community
As a long standing club within the St
Helens area, Blackbrook knows only too
well how important it is to give back to the
local community and since the start of the
season Blackbrook Royals have been
working hard to give as much back as pos-
sible.
One of the initiatives undertaken this year
has been the introduction of a Co-op
foodbank donation bucket within our club.
This scheme is in partnership with Co-op
and since we have committed to this
scheme we are pleased to say that as a
club we have donated more than 30 bags
full of food to the initiative which will be
distributed around our local community to
family's which may just need a helping
hand.
If you would like to donate anything to our
foodbank you will find our bucket in the
club however if you would like to get your
own food bank bucket you can speak to
one of our festival organisers or call in to
your local Co-op store and ask for more
details.
Willowbrook hospice is a regis-
tered St Helens charity who
opened its doors in 1997 and since
then has cared for over 9000 suf-
ferers of cancer and other life lim-
iting diseases. With no govern-
ment funding the hospice relys on
their own fundraising efforts such
as tonights colour walk and other
contributions. Through the 2019
season members of the U8’s team
are carrying out clothes collections
and are donating the clothing to
Willowbrook who will sell through
their network of charity shops
around the borough. For more
