sweet Swami granted this wish. A mere mortal could not say this with such authority and by the telling, demonstrate omniscience. Swami then moved his precious hand in the air and materialized a beautiful, small diamond ring. It had three diamonds in a row. It was a gi for Carolyn, and her face lit up like the sparkling diamonds. Her heart was free and flying with supreme happiness. Aer the interview, we shared giggles and wonder with Carolyn about her precious treasure. Just one brief glance from Swami’s dancing, laughing eyes is enough to overcome any depth of fear, pain, and sorrow. Swami’s love melted Carolyn’s distress. A heart filled with Swami’s love lis the devotee above suffering to oneness with God.
The Remover of Obstacles
How is it that Swami’s devotees can be challenged by inconvenience and hardship—no water, no electricity, uncomfortable heat, unfamiliar food, pummeled egos, apparent failure and loss—and yet gladly come back for more? They love sweet Swami even more, yearn for this bumpy treatment even more? What kind of teacher is this? Nothing short of our Lord and Master, who captures our mind through love, helps us confront our obstacles, and guides us safely through the process of purification to the place of supreme peace.
The amazing leelas of Hari (Krishna) are known to Hari alone. They can be interpreted by Him alone, not by another. One observation, however, can be made with confidence. The manifest incarnations of God will not engage themselves in the least for their own sake or for the sake of fulfilling any personal likes! All activities are for the good of the world! Though without them, the world cannot exist and survive, they move and act as if the world has nothing to do with them.
