Swami was so sweet and soft with this young man, continuing to coax from him an answer to the question. I felt that this poignant interchange between Swami and this troubled young man represented communication between God and troubled society. I knew that Philip also saw this dynamic. Swami then moved his hand in the air and created a ring for the young man. He passed it around for everyone to see.
“Where is God?” asked Swami. The young man said, “He is in my heart.” Swami picked up a handkerchief and said, “The handkerchief is in my hand, and my hand is bigger than the handkerchief. God is bigger, and so God is not in you. It is more correct to say that you are in God. And how do you get to God? Love all and serve all.”
Swami continued speaking soly and sweetly to this man, summarizing his fundamental teaching in simple terms. Philip was witnessing what Jung described as unconditional love giving clear direction to the lost. “These eyes should see no evil, they should see only good.
