That was the end of any sign of recognition from Swami, and I sat quietly for the rest of the three hours until the devotional singing ended and Swami le the area. As I rose to leave, I was surprised to find the person in front of me turn and greet me with a broad smile. I would not have recognized him because of his 20-pound weight loss and because I had not seen him in about seven years. Yet, there in the flesh was Dr. Krishna Raman! He later told me that he would not have recognized me had it not been for Swami’s loud greeting. We marveled at this unlikely meeting, which we both knew was not a coincidence.
Our family was humbled by Swami’s grace and grateful for the meeting with Dr. Krishna Raman. He came to our room and helped Ruth immensely. He brought a new and optimistic perspective that quieted Ruth’s worries about her health. His approach to movement and exercise awakened her inner strength and le her confident about the future. How could this meeting be anything else but the divine play of sweet, loving Swami? The most potent healing force of the whole drama was knowing that Swami had arranged everything, and that these acts and activities were held in his hands.
Many of Swami’s miracles are very subtle and meant only for the recipient. At the time, the fortunate person knows with deep certainty that the extraordinary occurrence is meant for him and is a sign of Swami’s unconditional divine love. If the person experiencing the miracle were to tell others, they might think him fanciful.
Soon after the miraculous meeting with Dr. Krishna Raman, I was in an interview with Swami and asked if I could invite my talented doctor friend to the United States where his approach would be highly appreciated. To my surprise, Swami responded by asking, “Who is he?” My monkey mind thought that aer all of this miraculous synchronicity, how could Swami not know?
Aer the interview, I sat on the veranda of the temple thinking about my conversation with Swami. Then I heard
