Suites Class, Singapore Airlines
A roundtrip flight from New York to Singapore in a Suite costs
approximately $12,000.
ingapore Airlines was an early mover in apportioning space
Son aircraft; its Suites debuted in 2007, along with the unique
option to combine two interior Suites into a double-suite con-
figuration. While the Suites aboard A380-800 aircraft feature
separate beds and full-grain Aeristo leather armchairs, the true
luxuries of flying with Singapore lie within the airline’s signature
customer service.
“What really can’t be replicated is the Singapore Airlines style of
service. We have a very rigorous process for recruitment whereby
fewer than 10 percent of applicants for in-flight cabin crew positions
are ever offered a job. We work with people who have service in
their blood,” explains James Bradbury-Boyd, spokesman for Sin-
gapore Airlines.
The airline’s selectivity extends to the amenities of the Suites —
ranging from a 23-inch LCD video monitor to a personal coat closet
— and the wide variety of gourmet food and beverage options.
“Twice a year we have a consultation with an International
Culinary Panel to identify food trends, with chefs such as James
Beard award-winner Suzanne Goin. With our Book the Cook pro-
gram, Suite guests can pre-order meals up to 24 hours in advance
of their flights,” says Bradbury-Boyd. “We’re one of the only airlines
in the world that offers a choice of two champagne brands, in
addition to five different types of coffee and nine wine selections.
All of these things speak to the ability to personalize and individual-
ize your in-flight experience.”
