SERVE WITH JOY
THROUGH LIONISM
First of all, let me wish you all a very happy and fruitful lionistic year
ahead for the coming five months. The first half of the lionistic year was
overwhelming as it was filled with service activities from every nook and
corner of the District. The New Year 2017…. a time for all of us Lions to
look at what we have already achieved, reflects on our past success,
aspires to move forward and an exciting time to embrace our mission. It is
the time to tell our communities about what we do and invite new
members. Yes, for we lions , January 1st brings not only the beginning of
a New Year but also the beginning of the second half of our lionistic year.
This is the perfect time to look at the goals reached till December 2016.
From November, my visits to clubs has gained momentum. Most of the
clubs combined their Charter Anniversary Celebrations, Honoring of Past
Presidents and MJFs of their clubs, induction of new members and
honouring big achievers during my visit to the clubs. Almost all the major
clubs have completed their Centennial Legacy Projects.
During the months of November & December , our District witnessed the
inauguration of three new clubs - LC Chirakkal (7th November), LC of
Poinachi (21st November) and LC of Alavil (7th December).
A PST review meeting was conducted on the 20th November 2016 at
LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL Kannur to evaluate the functioning of all the clubs and to implement
improvisation wherever necessary. There was also a motivation training
DISTRICT 318E session.
The sparkling and glittering Lions Annual cultural festival, " Centennial
Sargasangamam", was conducted by Lion Rajesh Kunhappan in a
meticulous manner. There were lots of participants from most of the clubs
for each event which exhibited the inner talents that the lions, ladies and
leos have, apart from their service mind. Hats off to all the winners and
also to the participants for each event.
