I hope that all the clubs have taken steps to appoint the Nomination Committee to nominate the office bearers of their Clubs
for the year 2017-2018. As per the new directions issued by the Lions Clubs International, every Club should nominate one
Centennial Coordinator and one LCIF Coordinator for the lionistic year 2017-2018.
We all know that our Clubs are working on four different Centennial Service Challenge areas. From 1st July 2017
onwards, we are getting one more area to work,. that is fight against diabetes. We all know that our State is the centre of
diabetic patients. Let us plan together to concentrate on this area during the forthcoming lionistic year.
Let us work together to uphold lionism.
With lionistic regards,
Lion Adv. Dennis Thomas MJF,
First Vice District Governor.
Message from Second Vice District Governor
Dear Lion Leaders,
Greetings and best wishes. I am greatful to you for the outstanding performance and the
wholehearted support extended by you for all the district activities this year.
99 glorious years have passed and we are on the verge of Centenary. Centenary Celebrations are
going on throughout 210 countries and geographical areas.
By our noble service activities, bring in smile of happiness in other's faces. Life smiles at you when
you are happy, life salutes you when you make others happy. Motivate the members the joy of
giving - money, time, resources and skills. All major religions uphold the philosophy of giving. A wise person will not use
all his wealth for personal indulgence, but will share with others. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by
what we give.
In India more than 1.4 million children are uneducated. There is a Tibetan proverb - A child without education is like a bird
without wings. In the New Year, promote the Gift Education Project of Lions Club International - India. which aims to
adopt a child and educate the child including other welfare measures with Rs. 6000/- every year. You have to pay only Rs
4500/- per child and the balance Rs 1500/- will be paid by Lions India Education Promotion Council. The aim is to support
75000 children in 3 years. All Lions Club members are requested to sponsor a child.
Wish you all prosperity and happiness in the New Year.
Thanking you all
Jaihind, Jai lionism. Let us Celebrate Lionism.

From the District Cabinet Treasurer's Desk
Dear Lion Leaders,
Hearty greetings.
During the last three months, activities in our District were at the peak - Sargasangamam,
Community Marriage, Centennial Celebrations and Lions Service Week were very well organized
and Kudos to our DG and all our fellow lions who were instrumental in the grand success of these
events. The Annual Convention of our District is fast approaching. A number of clubs have not paid
their dues to the District in spite of repeated reminders. The second half International dues has also fallen due. I appeal to
all concerned PSTs, ZCs and RCs to see that all dues to the International and the District are paid at the earliest. I also
request the sponsors of advertisements for District Directory to make payment without any further delay.
Let us work together to accomplish the goals set by our DG and bring glory to our District in this Centennial Year.
Yours in Lionism,
Lion CA P.S.Varadarajan MJF
District Cabinet Treasurer.
