MESSAGE

        CA Ashwini Sawrikar
        Chairperson
        Muscat Chapter
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India

We find many learned people making statements about Innovation; William Pollard says that “Learning and
innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient
for tomorrow”. Whereas, Peter Drucker, the founder of modern management & leader in development of
management education who invented the concepts like ‘management by objectives’ and ‘self-control’ says
        - “Innovation is the specific instrument of entrepreneurship. The act that endows resources with a new
        capacity to create wealth.”

The importance of Innovation cannot be undermined. It has been the reason for making human life more
comfortable; it has been the reason for the progress and evolution of humans, from where we started. It
is the guiding force for current humans and is shaping the future of generations to come. Innovation is
inevitable at the human level and is imperative at the granular levels of individual corporates/organisations
as well as individual persons. This is what I believe can help ensure survival and progress. While not every
innovative idea may succeed or excel; but the route to ‘excellence’ is most certainly through the path of
        ‘innovation’.

On behalf of the ICAI Muscat Chapter, I congratulate the ICAI Doha Chapter for selecting such a relevant
topic for their International Conference, considering how apt and relevant it is, in today’s world.

My best wishes to the Chairperson - CA Rukkaiya Pachisa; Vice-Chairman - CA Sandeep Chowdhary and
the entire Managing Committee of ICAI Doha Chapter for a grand success of their 6th Annual International
        Conference in November 2019.
