all-time top ten
dj bubbles [ireland]
One of the most difficult lists for a DJ to compile has to be a definitive all time top ten tunes. Almost an impossible task given the thousands of amazing records that I've collected and played over 20 years of DJ'ing. Here's ten of the most precious vinyls in my precious collection.
1. Fluke Slide - PDFmone [Circa] UK 1993
A highly important band from the early UK House scene, Fluke came out with many era defining tunes. Most notable for me was Slide which featured heavily on Sasha and Digweed's blueprint Rennaissance collection. Laden with funky guitars, trancey
elements , enticing vocals, and mind opening congas this is a prize in mine, and any DJs collection.
2. St Germain - Boulevard [F Comm] France 1995
Parisian soundtrack to every cafe/lounge /bar. A true work of art, St Germain's album is an given in all music collections. With all elements of Jazz, Dub, House, HipHop and downtempo. Essential
3. Microman - Microhouse [Plumphouse] Sweden 1995
Very underground, trippy and very deep House from Swedish artist Microman, this was a cult classic in its day. Clocking in at over 14 mins long. Sometimes, with a friend, in the early morning, we would play this 4 times in a row to make a beautiful hour pass.
4. Global Communication - 76:14 [Warp Records] UK 1994
Classic ambient album from Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard. Commissioned by the NHS as the soundtrack to their birthing pools. A masterpiece.
5. Nick Warren - Back to Mine [DMC] UK 1999
Stunning selection of downtempo and ambient classics from Way out West,s Nick Warren. Standout track for me , Space Van "Glide".
6. Deep Sensation - Can't Give You Up [Guidance] US 2000.
Disco,House and Soul vibes from the seminal US deep house label Guidance. Was offered 100 euros for this record by a very famous UK DJ that i played support to back in the day. Not for sale mate .
7. Bent - Always (Ashley Beedle's Mahavishnu Dub) [Sport] UK 2001 Impossible to compile a top ten without an Ashley Beedle track in it. Perfect uplifting House music for any time of the day or night.
8. USG - Ncameu [Clairaudience] US 1997
Beautiful, Spiritual and Gospel vibes from Ron Trent, Francois Kevorkian, Anthony Nicholson with epic vocals from Dbora Rivers. Rare and much sought after. This is a real prize in my collection.
9. Pete Lazonby - Sacred Cycles [Brianiak]1994
Outstanding epic trance with spoken incantation from Indian guru Osho. I used to melt the POD with this one back in the day. Hair raising stuff.
10. Gat Decor - Passion [Effective] 1992
Well, If I have to explain about this one, you should probably be reading a different magazine.
2015 top ten
blue amazon [uk]
2015 was the year techno dominated the floors. Labels tronic , drumcode and suara all at the forefront. Progressive house started to make its way back with some quality productions. The volume of releases were outrageous but very good. Roll on 2016
1. Arjun Vagale – Black strobe [Suara]
Arjun the champion of modern techno , floor smasher with a touch of risqué.
2. Matador – Dahustle [Minus]
Trance came back from France but with a Techno groove.

Quite dark but hit the record boxes of most this year .. Great fx.
4. Sasha Carassi - The hard parade [Drum Code]
If you love techno it would have been impossible to miss this.
5. Christian Smith & wehbba – (Mutate Kaiserdisco Remix) [Tronic] Tronic’s biggest track of the year and deservedly so.
6. Dark Soul Project presents Dancing with My Self - Line Of Fire [We Are Here Mexico] I hammered this track this year , great 80’s vocoder in there.
7. Dosem – Message (Coyu Remix) [Suara]
Both Dosem & Coyu have smashed everything this year. Simple groove work out but affective.
8. Blue Amazon - Teaser EP [Pro-B-Tech]
well I suppose i had to, my first single of the year and a teaser for lots of what’s going on and coming.
9. Andhim & Super Flu - MR. Bass [Monaberry Records]
Classed as deep house but more dimensional than just deep house.. different but worth it.
10. Monika Kruse, Pig&Dan - Soulstice Alberto Ruiz 80 Monster Remix [Terminal] Dark hypnotic tech with a trance esque break. Was massive this year.
