form either it seemed we watched her scolding her chicks for lazing under the apple tree instead of swimming in the brook. After brunch Rex needed to head back to start his shift, luckily farmer Will was passing at that moment and offered him a lift as he was going for his daily pint there anyway. As I waved him off I told him I’d see him later for my shift. It was nice not having to drive him home I needed to catch up on my housework I‘d been letting it slip lately. As I loaded the washing machine my mind wandered to Rex and his father, I wondered why he had no photos of his dad surely his mother would have given him something. Why had he not told us his name? I thought he could at least confide in me did he not trust me enough?
Mr. Harris and Mr. Stapleton must know something. I know he doesn’t want to shout it from the rooftops but surely, he should tell the woman he claimed to love! Would he stay in England when he finds his father? Does he really love me or was he just biding his time till he finds his father?

I arrived into work for the late shift to find Penny there alone.
‘Hi, did Paul and Seki get off ok?’ I asked going behind the bar to help myself to a bottle of orange.
She nodded as she continued to clear off some tables, ‘Jenny will be here shortly to relieve me, and we can have a proper chat then’.
Just then Rex appeared looking like an overgrown schoolboy in his football shorts. ‘Hi! Amber I didn’t expect to see you so early’, he looked embarrassed as I looked him up and down smiling, ‘I bet, although you do have lovely legs’, I giggled.
