where we got our hair highlighted and styled and then over to the make-up stall to get our faces and nails done. With our purses much lighter but with our heads held higher we headed back to the hotel to get dressed.
We had ordered a taxi to take us to the church it arrived promptly collecting us from the hotel lobby. It was a beautiful summer’s day and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. I hoped Sherry had got over her drinking session and was as bright as the day was.
It appears she recovered well, Brian and Sherry were a beautiful couple and I found myself wiping away a few tears as they said their vows glancing at Penny I noticed she too had a few tears in her eyes.
It was a small reception only about 30 guests and the style were blinding. Armani suits and Garry Webb cocktail dresses, you could almost smell the money.
The bride and groom weren’t planning on leaving until Monday for their honeymoon, so the party went well into the early hours of the morning. As it was Sunday we decided to miss breakfast and have a long lay in.
At noon the next day I got a phone call from Sherry arranging for us to meet with herself and Brian for a drink in the evening, I was so glad she wanted to spend more time with me, even the day after her wedding.
