NTFO – Serva Doi E.P. [Sintope Vinyl Serie] [Minimal House]
Label bosses NTFO return to the fold with this great little two tracker. Not really much to say about this one. “Serva doi” is a chugging piece of deep house with elements of progressive house. On the flip side “Sensory room” errs more towards the progressive side of things, with a solid bassline and drums that skip along nicely. Its a brilliant couple of tracks. That is all.

Maag – Trip to nowhere EP [Relikt] [Deep House]
Maag joins the Relikt family with a superb 4 track EP, packed full of deep house goodness. Title track “Trip to nowhere” is all about the organ stabs and chugging bassline. Yves Bonjour, with his remix, layers on the funk with a new bassline and gives the drums a bit more energy. On the flip, “Lost in Juno” goes a bit darker, with rolling hihats and a sub bass that will get the speakers rumbling. Finally “Si No” rounds things off by bringing things back into the light, with its synth stabs and vocal snippets giving a sense of openness. Great little EP.

Modat – Bauer Beat EP [Johnny Johnny] [Minimal Tech House]
Nico Mendez comes home to release on his own Johnny Johnny imprint, and he's been busy with four originals crammed onto this EP. Kicking off with “Late Night” with its off kilter stabs and soulful detuned vocals. Next “Bauer Beat” is more experimental with its sounds. Quirky percussion and hats are the core of this track. On the B-side, we have “Money Walk”, which has a Mr Fingers feel with its bassline, combined with its spoken word sample, and squelching synths. Finally “Aug Bar” draws things to a close with smooth pads and synths combined with synth stabs and vocal samples scattered over the top. Really really nice stuff.

Various Artists – Parquet Most Wanted ep 15 [Parquet Recordings] [Tech-House] Melodic house and techno are the order of the day here, as Parquet Recordings bring us their 15th instalment of their Most Wanted series of EPs. Label boss Solee takes usof on a journey through melodic house with “Watoto”, a powerful and evocative track, full of emotion. D-Nox and K.a.l.i.l bring in a more luxurious progressive sound with “Meander”. A great title as the lead arpeggio weaves itself throughout the track. Room Service start off the flipside with “White Line”, a chirpy house number, with delicate synths coupled with a growling sub bass. Finally Rauschhaus close things with “Bespin” and the energy levels are brought down slightly as the chunky beats and rolling bassline take you away. A great selection.

Vlad Arapasu – Vesica Piscis EP [Unic] [Minimal House]
For their fourth release, Unic have brought in the talents of Romanian native and long term friend of the label Vlad Arapasu. Three originals make up the EP and they all stand up in their own merit. Title track “Vesic Piscis” is a twisting piece of deep house, with elements of ambient and electronica flowing throughout. “Witchy ci” is more club focused, with heavy drums, packing a punch and giving the track the groove. Finally “Colour map” is a dark and brooding deep house affair, with its rolling bassline and synth lines that slide along the top.
