This will be a short chapter, not because there are only a few

federal laws, but because most of them are obvious. There are
specific federal and state laws regarding collecting consumer
debts. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is one
of these. You can find it with a simple Google search of
“FDCPA.”

Does the FDCPA include us if we don’t take consumer judgment? Nope. But still,

everything we do in life should be by following mom’s advice: Be nice. So, the FDCPA
discusses unfair practices, harassment, misrepresentation, as well as actions that are legal,
etc.
