Judgment Enforcement – The Step-by-Step Course

                    Employments

The Work Number helps you find places of employment so you can garnish wages.
It doesn’t have everyone, but it does have many millions. If your debtor keeps changing
jobs, is working under the table, or is self-employed, his workplace won’t be here. But
sign up for this. It’s a www.TheWorkNumber.com. There is no charge if your JD isn’t
there, and a $30 or so charge if he is. (Of course, check to see if it’s changed)

                        And don’t forget Indeed.com, SimplyHired.com, Monster.com or some other
employment websites. Lots of info out there if we look.

Note: If you are contacted about a judgment, or locate one, why not run The Work
Number or one of the employment sites BEFORE you take assignment.?

                    Zillow.com

You probably know this one already. It’s a handy free online search place where you
can look up your debtor’s property value and get an approximation. If the JD owes $X on
the property, I can compare that amount to what Zillow says the property or surrounding
comparable properties are worth. I can then calculate general equity and compare that to
homestead in the state (See homestead section) If my JD is renting, Zillow often gives the
suggested rental amount. That helps me gauge how much the JD and spouse may make a
month. I always look this up before taking a judgment.

                    People Finder

People Finder is also known as Diogenes. It’s at Peoplefinder.net. It’s an unusual site
that has lots of current and past telephone information. Not as current as the professional

                    databases.

                    Search Systems

This is almost free and often a good, basic resource. It’s a HTUwww.searchsystems.netUTH. It
has tons of public records available for your state. You search by state, county and city. It’s
                    amazing. Reasonable fees.
