UNDERSTANDING THE PROCESS

Whenever I look at a case, I always ask myself this:
“Which of the 6 main enforcement measures

will work in this case?”
If none, I don’t take the case!

1. Lien real property

2. Levy bank account or car or something else
3. Wage garnishment.

4. Till Tap (Sheriff goes to the business and empties the till)
5. Keeper (Sheriff sits at the business and collects the money as customers pay)

6. Assignment order (a great way to intercept money that others are paying the
debtor (more later)).

If none of these will work, then the JD probably has nothing. I don’t take the case. Get on
to something doable. Something real. A judgment where you can make some money.
